Admissions to the College and the Graduate Residence

Choosing a College full of opportunities for a hundreds of talented university students. Admission by qualifications and exams. Recent first-level graduates can also apply for the Graduate Residence (co-ed), open to third-cycle university students.

… an environment full of opportunities for a hundred of talented university students. Admission by qualifications and exams.  

From the academic year 2025-26 the College proposes a unified call with the IUSS for freshmen who intend to enroll in the first year in three-year and single-cycle master's degree courses and a call reserved for female students in years after the first and in second-level degree courses.

Please note that Collegio Nuovo is a women's college and that in the event of admission of students who win the unified competition Collegio Nuovo – IUSS, they will be housed in the adjacent Graduate Section, with access to all the services of the College (including meals) and participation in the cultural program of the College.

Announcement Collegio Nuovo – IUSS 2025-2026: at least 22 competition places, all financially subsidized – for students who intend to enroll in the first year in three-year degree courses and single-cycle master's degrees. For all of them, the following must be completed: both questions.

Call for Applications 2025-26 (in Italian; for English version, see below): at least 5 competition positions, all financially subsidized, structured as follows: a) 3 positions for female students enrolling in years subsequent to the first in three-year or single-cycle master's degree courses at the University of Pavia. b) 2 positions for female students enrolling in the first year in two-year master's degree courses at the University of Pavia.

For the Graduate Residence – The choice of…

…an environment again more independent and international for about fifty recent master's graduates,  enrolled in specialization schools, masters and doctorates (title competition), with places also for students from the fourth to the sixth year of a single-cycle degree, recent first-level graduates e visiting professors/scholars. 

Call 2025-2026 (in Italian): at least 10 positions available, all financially subsidized. Deadlines: July 15 (for annual requests - from 01/09/2025 to 31/08/2026) and September 30, 2025.

This experience made me discover the different facets of collegiate life, albeit in a different way from how I would have experienced it as a graduate student; it also allowed me to improve my knowledge of English (with the courses organized by the College), it gave me the opportunity to interact with kids from different backgrounds than mine and with inspiring personalities (like the senator and scientist Elena Cattaneo).
