Thursday, December 5 (17.30:XNUMX p.m., in the Aula Magna and on Zoom, as well as live on Facebook) at Collegio Nuovo we will return to talk about Artificial Intelligence (AI), a technology that is revolutionizing our time, capable of profoundly transforming our lives, work and the way we interact with the world. But what are the concrete benefits and what are the risks to be faced?
Last year, as part of the initiative “Beyond the human: artificial intelligence, new frontiers of science and social transformations” coordinated by Prof. Federico Forneris and Francesco Lescai (University of Pavia), we addressed the impact of AI in the field of biological research and pandemic prevention tools. This year we begin with a dialogue with other leading Professors of our University, investigating the field of technological development and its impact on health, including psychological health: in addition to Virginio Cantoni, Member of the National Coordination Committee for Artificial Intelligence (already intervened in the previous cycle), will offer their points of view Paul of the Beard, Director of the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering, for a general introduction on the topic and Pierluigi Politi, Professor of Psychiatry, who will also highlight the critical issues generated by the development of this technology.
The dialogue will be introduced by Filippo Moretti, PhD in Philosophy and Theology, as well as coordinator of the Project “The Fragile Era?” promoted by the cultural association “Convivio” in close collaboration with the University, Diocese, Higher Institute of Religious Sciences, Edisu, Colleges of Merit, Conservatory and Diocesan Museum and made up of a group of undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Pavia, including students of the New

Registration is required by December 4nd for in-person participation; by December 5rd, 16.30:XNUMX pm for those who wish to connect remotely.
