REGISTRATION FORM – by January 28th

Vincenzo Vanni, Critical Care Flight Paramedic, already a teacher in some internal courses for the collegiate community organized by Prof. Giovanni Ricevuti, returns to the Nuovo in a meeting open to the public scheduled for the 30 January 2026, 18 in the Great Hall. He will talk about "Tactical medicine at the service of the population”, a topic on which he also published a manual.

Tactical medicine: what is it and what strategies does it employ?
It is a Highly specialized first responders focusing on effectiveness and safety in high-threat environmentsStandard medical techniques are adapted to unconventional contexts (terrorist attacks, war scenarios, security at major events) to ensure survival in critical situations. Indeed, crucial first aid is often entrusted to non-medical personnel. Therefore, tactical medicine trains healthcare professionals, but also other professionals (such as military and other law enforcement personnel) and helps manage and stabilize patients in critical conditions—shock, severe trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure—in synergy with doctors and nurses.

The meeting is promoted in particular by the students of Medicina del Nuovo as part of the training activities planned for the collegiate community: in consideration of its relevance also for less or differently specialized interested parties, it is open to the public.

Vincenzo Vanni, together with Luca Malcovati e Livia Visai, is part of the teaching staff of three new Masters proposed by Department of Molecular Medicine of the UUniversity of Pavia in the following areas: in addition to Tactical Medicine, there are training courses in Management of health and aviation emergencies (for air ambulance personnel and medical escorts on board airliners) and in Aerospace Medicine and Resuscitation.
