Julia Pompilio, master's degree student in Chemical at the 'University of Pavia and student of the Collegio Nuovo – Sandra and Enea Mattei Foundation, as well as a student IUSS, won the XXXIV edition of the Scholarship named after Giacomo Bonaiuti, reserved for students of Lombard universities enrolled in chemistry courses and financed not only by the Bonaiuti family, but also by the Bracco Foundation, GES – Edison Seniors Group and ALDAI – Lombardy Association of Industrial Company Managers.

There were almost ninety candidates, three winners: Davide Bortolotti and Letizia Rapini (University of Milan) and Giulia Pompilio who remembers having learned about the announcement in her second year of university – thanks to the Department of Chemistry and the Dean of the College: «Unfortunately, at the time, I did not yet have the necessary requirements to apply. However, I did not give up and, starting from the third year, I submitted my application every year, cultivating the hope of being able to receive it one day. I am really happy to have won this award at this precise moment in my career, since I plan to carry out the second part of my thesis internship in Germany».
At Collegio Nuovo he has meanwhile built, step by step, a supplementary training compared to the university curriculum of Chemistry, participating in various conferences with protagonists of culture and professions, from Maria Chiara Carrozza to Elena Cattaneo, in language courses, in particular German (also to attend the Ferienkurs at the University of Heidelberg, offered through the College); she also carried out the task of Chemistry Tutor for new students.
Next commitment: participate in the EucA's Leadership Summer School in New York, for which he won the scholarship offered by Collegio Nuovo together with CCUM – Conference of University Colleges of Merit.
