What does Europe mean to young university students? What opportunities exist to break down educational barriers? What does it mean to feel like a European citizen today? How can we spread the founding values of the European Union?
To answer these questions theCollegio Nuovowith its students organizes on March 4th, at 9 pm the meeting "Pavia and Europe. Students, stories, and opportunities at EC2U”.
A meeting promoted by the students and open to all students, to discuss the idea of Europe and common education. Starting from Pavia's participation in the European EC2U network.European Campus of City-Universities – the European alliance that brings together nine historic and multidisciplinary universities (Coimbra, Iasi, Jena, Pavia, Poitiers, Salamanca, Turku, Linz, Umeå), which share a strong international vocation and at the same time a strong local roots, a factor that makes them city-universities – The students of Collegio Nuovo will talk with two international students who came to Pavia for EC2U from Finland and Albania., to compare their experience of Europe and their idea of European citizenship.
For the students of the Collegio Nuovo thismeeting concludes the "Europe Project"launched in April 2025 by the Conference of Italian University Colleges of Merit (CCUM), under the patronage of the Ministry of University and Research and the European Parliament.
The meeting will be opened by the Rector of the Collegio NuovoPaola Bernardi,of the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of UniPVMatteo Alvaroand the Delegate for Europe of UniPVElisabetta Rocca. The dialogue between students on Europe and European citizenshipwill be entrusted to the experiences and reflections of the studentsVittoria Belotti, Dajana Gega, Elena Rinaldi and Julia Seppa;During their speeches, the public will be invited tointeract through the Mentimeter survey app.In the second part of the meeting,Alberto Forte, coordinator of the EC2U Unit at UniPV, will present the projects, training opportunities, challenges and the annual EC2U report with the results achieved so far by UniPV thanks to an extraordinary and unique European network of traditional campus cities.
The initiative is included, subject to confirmation by the individual interested College member of the CCUM, in the recognized training activities and is accredited as part of the IUSS extra-class training activity.
