From Geneva, for the Sandra Bruni Mattei Lecture named after the Founder of the New College, the Alumna returns to the New Grace Bianchi, a specialist in reproductive medicine, who co-founded a laboratory specialized in reproductive biology (BabyImpulse), renowned for its experience and cutting-edge technologies.

Grace Bianchi, in addition to being a member of the Board of the Société Suisse de Médecine de la Reproduction (SSMR) and the Fondation Genevoise pour la Formation et la Recherche Medicale (which works in close collaboration with the WHO), has been teaching for over twenty years as a Private Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva.

Leading the meeting with her – Wednesday 15 October (21 pm, in the Aula Magna and on Zoom, as well as live on Facebook) – will be Arsenio Spinillo, Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Pavia and Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Policlinico S. Matteo: in past years, he also directed a course on these topics promoted by the College and accredited by the University of Pavia. Together, they will address issues related to both poor fertility (1 in 6 adults suffers from it, according to the WHO) due to health and hygiene issues, and the declining birth rate, also due to broader social dynamics. Their extensive medical experience in diverse professional settings and in contact with increasingly advanced technologies is the basis for addressing the issue of possible new frontiers to explore in order to find solutions to these problems.

The meeting will be held in person (Aula Magna del Collegio Nuovo, via Abbiategrasso 404, Pavia) and remotely. Registration is required by October 14th for in-person attendance; by October 15th at 6:30 PM for those wishing to join remotely.

The initiative is included, subject to confirmation by the individual interested College member of the CCUM, in the recognized training activities and is accredited as part of the IUSS extra-class training activity.
